Dan started in real estate in 1994, acquiring his fathers firm after he passed away. In 1996 he became a broker and is currently an associate broker for Cypress Bottom Real Estate. During his years in real estate Dan has specialized in marketing and selling historic properties, businesses such as mobile home parks, marinas at Lake Seminole, country homes with acreage and farms of all types. 

In 1999 Dan became a board member for CASA of Southwest Ga. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates and works with the juvenile court judge to advocate for foster children in court. CASA is a 501c3 non-profit and advocate for children in the five counties of the South Georgia Judicial Circuit. 

In 2002 Dan volunteered as the executive director for CASA and served in that capacity till 2008. He became the board chair in 2008 and served in that position till 2015 when he accepted the position of the Advocacy Coordinator and still serves in that capacity today with a current case load of about 80 foster children. 

Dan was the first soccer coach in Bainbridge. Starting in 1998 at the new YMCA in Bainbridge. Dan coached for 25 years ending in 2014 with Bainbridge High School. Dan and his son, Daniel own and operate Springhill Farm just south of Bainbridge. Dan's father, John Provence purchased the farm in 1981. They raised cattle and Christmas tree. Dan has been growing Christmas trees ever since and coming up on his 41st year. The farm also hosts weddings and all type of gatherings and parties, for adults and children alike. 

14 years ago, Dan first opened the farm for Fall Family Fun, and Oktoberfest type of event that includes corn mazes, hayrides, horseback rides, a working trebuchet that launches pumpkins, a pumpkin patch and numerous other activities. 

Dan is married to his wife Bonnie and has two grown children, Daniel and Aubrie.
